Wow, another year passing by soon... 2008 has been a year of many drastic changes; lots of bad things happened, but thankfully there were some redeeming points and even more learning experiences. More complete update coming soon.

Christmas Shopping at Toys R Us

I finally finished this year's Christmas shopping, it was painful, but it could have been much worse.

The highlight has got to be tonight... I was roaming Toys R Us trying to pick out 3 appropriate gifts. I had absolutely no idea what to get when I set foot in the store, I relied heavily on the "Recommended Age" and tried my best to cater the gift to the kid's personality. I can tell at least 75% of the other parents felt the same frustration... a lot of them were just roaming the toy store walking around like a zombie with a glaze over their eyes, and desperately flipping over every single toy hoping it is the one.

I also walked around most of the time with a big pink my little pony doll... yeah, I definitely got some stares.

I'm becoming one of "those" drivers...

Ever since I tore my ACL I have been driving into DC for work. I used to be a super cautious [read: pansey] driver, I'd keep at least 3 car lengths between myself and the car in front; but recently I noticed that distance quickly shortened to one car length. Once I made that realization, I began observing my other driving habits.

I used to hate assholes that would cut me off, but from the months of practice in frustrating DC traffic, I became that asshole. I'd still signal, but I'd do any thing to squeeze into the lane I want and dare the other driver to hit me... terrible.

What really tipped me off was what happened today... while trying to make a lane change, a car in that lane sped up to block me off, I very naturally flipped him the bird and held it there. Wow.

Terrible, I know...

Dragonball movie?!

Next, slam hands on table and scream WTF?!

I am not mad about Goku not being Asian, nor Picolo not being green, no, those don't matter to me. If a white actor can pull it off, I'd happily accept a non-Asian Goku. But watching the trailer, the Director and script writer obviously missed the entire point of Dragonball. The comic before "Z" is supposed to be light hearted adventure and it is characterized by a very stylized Asian atmosphere... so wtf are Goku and them fighting Matrix style in an urban city? The whole thing feels cheap and just another typical B-rated Matrix wanna-be. Puma and Yumcha kissing? Seriously, in the Dragonball universe prior to "Z"? The characters are too generic and don't have "characters" like in the manga... disappointing.

Maybe I am just upset because this would be the first time Dragonball is being introduced to many American audience, and it seems like they screwed it up big time.

So after 6 months, I think I am coming back to Xanga, at least for the more personal updates. Facebook just doesn't cut it as a blogging platform, and I cannot put personal entries on my stuckon355.com blog.
